这次梦工厂足足花了8个月的时间，为中文版重新制作了角色对白的段落，不仅对白、口型乃至面部表情全部同步，有些段落还专门根据中国的文化，重新设计了笑点和台词。这是好莱坞第一次为一个国家重新制作一版对应口型的动画电影。 这次《功夫熊猫3》的中文版和英文版在最后的制作阶段基本保持着同样的步调，中西方配音演员在创作中期便开始介入配音，并根据各自演员的面部表情制作动画成片的效果。中文版的台词创作也并没有依赖英文的脚本，更不是简单的字幕翻译。东方梦工厂专门请来了中文版专属编剧（《煎饼侠》导演大鹏也是编剧顾问团之一），将英文版中那些不太符合中国文化的美式幽默转换成中国观众能轻易理解的笑点。中文的配音更是没有马虎，东方梦工厂和好莱坞基本保持着一天一交流的步调。好莱坞梦工厂那边做完一段动画，就会给到东方梦工厂。然后，中方再根据中文的配音，同步更改对应段落里的画面，台词多的段落基本可以说是重新做了一遍。
