"I can accept failure, but I can't accept not trying." -- by Michael Jordan (我可以接受失败 但我不能接受放弃——迈克儿·乔丹)
My Country And My People (林语堂 《吾国与吾民》)The Importance of Living (林语堂 《生活的艺术》)Moment in Peking ( 林语堂 《京华烟云》)Four Generations Under One Roof (老舍《四世同堂》)Quotations from Chairman Mao Tse-tung (中华人民共和国政府《毛主席语录》)300 Tang Poems translated by Xu YuanChong (许渊冲译《唐诗三百首》)Tao Te Ching (许渊冲译《道德经》)Spirit of the Chinese People (辜鸿铭 《春秋大义》)Life and Death in Shanghai (郑念《上海生死劫》)这些都是近代之珍品,作者都是学贯中西之人杰,书的语言内容也是千锤百炼之集萃。 Japanese tales of Mystery and Imagination by Edogawa Ranpo(江户川乱步 《日本鬼怪奇谈》)(买那本封面有眼睛的)The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle (亚瑟·柯南·道尔《福尔摩斯探案集》)And then there were none by Agatha Christie (阿加莎克里斯蒂《无人生还》) 然后推荐几本通俗小说:Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë(《简爱》)Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen(《傲慢与偏见》)Gone with the Wind by Margaret Mitchell and Sonny Warner (《飘》)最后推荐几本儿童故事:Matilda by Roald DahlThe BFG by Roald DahlFantastic Mr. Fox by Roald Dahl这九本看完之后,希望留学生就比较能自己甄别、鉴赏和学习英文书籍了。
