《蒂凡尼的早餐》拍摄于1961年,六十年代的爱情故事,而今来看,有些浅薄与老套了,演员的表演方式也稍显浮夸,但这些并不妨碍人们喜欢这部影片,赫本优雅的小黑裙造型,还有那一首《Moon River》,仅是这两个元素,已足够有理由令观众喜爱。可是听说原著作者杜鲁门·卡波特写这本小说时,是将玛丽莲·梦露作为蓝本,他心中属意的女主角人选也是梦露。制片方原意亦是邀请梦露担当女主角,却因其经纪人阻挠,而未能如愿。几经周折后,最终确定由奥黛丽·赫本出演此片。一向以清纯甜美示人的赫本,此番竟来出演轻佻的交际花的角色,人人都大出意外,却又好奇她该如何颠覆自身形象。后来如我们所见,赫本将自身优雅的气质融入角色之中,将原本风情性感的女主角,演绎得优雅俏皮,倒也独具人物魅力。尽管卡波特对选角极为不满,可这部电影却在当时大获成功,成为1961年最卖座的影片之一,且获得五项奥斯卡提名,赫本亦凭借此片提名“最佳女主角”,《蒂凡尼的早餐》也成为她的代表作之一,流传至今。

电影的开场便是赫本身着简洁优雅的小黑裙,伴随着《Moon River》的曲子,缓缓步行到蒂凡尼珠宝店的橱窗前,她一边吃着手里的早餐,一边目不转睛地欣赏着蒂凡尼里面美丽昂贵的珠宝。她叫霍莉,是一个爱做梦的女孩,她渴望找到一个如蒂凡尼般的男人,使她没有忧愁。因为她称蒂凡尼为“没有忧愁的地方”,每当她感到心绪不宁时,就专程乘车来此,只消看上一眼蒂凡尼,她便会立即感到心安。其实谁不曾渴望过一件自己梦寐以求的东西呢?因为难得到,才愈加珍贵。在获取这件东西的道路上,也许会遇上许多困难,生活的压力如飓风,我们随时会迷失自己,被卷入其中,倘若不坚定自身信念。是以每当感到沮丧与迷茫时,只要想起或看上一眼自己心心念念之物,便会有为之奋斗的动力,会为了得到它,忘却路途中的痛与苦。
十四岁的霍莉只身从乡村小镇来到繁华大都会纽约,渴望能够在此占据一席之地,挣许多钱——可以堂堂正正地走进蒂凡尼的店中,过上梦想的生活。可是一个年轻的女孩子,没有学历,没有背景,什么都没有,什么也不会,只有一张漂亮的人人称赞的脸蛋。她又能够做什么呢?她根本无从选择。美丽的她流连于各式男人之间,与他们吃饭、聊天或者还做些什么别的事情。她有一张上天赏赐给她的美貌,只需在男人面前笑一笑,便可轻易俘获对方的心,她成了《茶花女》中的玛格丽特,依靠着男人的供养赖以生存。却因自己的奢侈无度,总是无法积蓄。于是她决定改变策略,她要嫁一个非常富有的富翁,这样她就能在墨西哥买一块地,与他的弟弟费特一起生活。费特擅长养马,而那儿非常适合养马。其实说到底,她也只是为了能够使自己与弟弟过上更好的生活,不再颠沛流离。
两个漂泊者
《蒂凡尼的早餐》是一个互相拯救的故事。霍莉整日周旋于不同男人之间,她的梦想是钓得金龟婿,而后与弟弟一起过上富足的生活。而保罗则是一位踌躇不得志的作家,出过一本书却无人问津,他被一名有钱的妇女包养,过着吃软饭的生活。霍莉与保罗的钱都来得轻松,不似寻常人那般过着朝九晚五的生活。可说得难听些,他们便是妓女与牛郎,仰仗着那些男人与女人的钱过活。我之所以称这是一个互相拯救的故事,也是因为爱情将他们从困境中解脱出来,摆脱旧日糜烂的生活,一同走向明媚的未来之路。
霍莉与保罗是纽约这个繁华世界里,渺小的,渺小如细沙的两个漂泊者。这里聚集了太多貌美与才华出众之人,人人都想出人头地,拔得头筹,可成功的位置却寥若晨星,大多数人都被淹没在茫茫人海中,默默无闻一生。这两个漂泊者因缘巧合租进同一间公寓,大概因保罗长得有几分像霍莉的弟弟费特,是以当霍莉初次见到保罗时,便觉亲切,不由得回忆往事。她对他袒露心声,说起自己的蒂凡尼,说最爱的弟弟与她的梦想,她将他当成能够信赖的知心好友一般,却忘了他们才相识不久,“与君初相识,犹如故人归”,大概说得便是此情此景吧。几番接触后,他们互生好感。那日保罗在家中写作,忽闻楼下传来袅袅之音,原来是霍莉坐在窗台上,深情而真挚地唱着《Moon River》,那一刻,任何人都会被她打动,她不再是行走在各处的玫红色的媚俗的高跟鞋了,她是那样忧郁,忧郁如蓝色的风铃,身不由己的随风晃动,却始终无法掌控自己的命运。霍莉总是刻意隐藏自己,故意疏远旁人,我总觉得那时的霍莉有一种与世隔绝的美。而保罗则已被迷至呆愣,他从未看见过霍莉的这一面,这与他之前所认识的霍莉简直判若两人,这个霍莉那样惹人怜爱,楚楚动人。她对他莞尔一笑,这个笑容被保罗收藏于心中,成了他永远无法忘却的一幕。我想保罗是懂她的,同是天涯漂泊者,同是骄傲自信者,他们原本以为,他们能够创造出一个属于自己的世界,可无情的生活却一点一点击碎他们的信心,毫不留情。行至山穷水尽处,他们堕落了。最初的梦想,变得那样遥远,遥远如大雾中的群山,明明就在那里,却始终看不清梦想之路,未来的路该如何走。
我们该如何判断当你爱上一个人?保罗给了我们答案。爱一个人是愿意为她放弃一切,只要在一起。保罗与富婆断绝来往“净身出户”,他什么也不要,他只要爱情,只要霍莉。可是天真的保罗,竟以为霍莉也会为了他而放弃一切。可是霍莉怎么会呢?没有一个女人会选择“十块钱”的爱情,这样的爱情太没有安全感,好似汪洋大海中的一弯小船,随时都有可能被生活的巨浪掀翻。莫说霍莉,我想世间大多数女人都不会选择这样的爱情,说女人虚荣也罢,物质也罢,可我们不过是想过上更好的生活,又有什么错呢?霍莉继续她的寻“金”之路,终于觅得如意郎君,是个有钱的巴西富商。她即将嫁去巴西,于是她开始学习葡萄牙语,学习做饭与织毛衣,她决心洗心革面做一个好妻子,这样才能另他的家人满意,她改掉一切坏毛病,她的前路一片坦荡,可为什么她却失去了往昔放肆的笑容呢?也许是因她最爱的弟弟死了,她的梦想再也不能完满了;也许是她即将放弃自己真正心爱的人,与另外一个毫不了解的男人结婚,她心中忧虑。可是她必须得承担生活中所有的不快,因为这是她自己的选择。
金钱与爱情,似乎总是难以两全其美。大概是自小便过着穷苦困顿的生活,霍莉比常人更加爱慕虚荣,因为她品尝过没有钱的滋味,那是一种难以言喻的感觉,就好似下雨天,躲在木箱里的猫一样,没有栖息之地,没有食物与温暖。人们匆匆而过,却没有一人肯给以关怀。必须要有钱,只有有钱才能够满足自己的心愿,才能做自己喜欢做的事情,买自己想要的东西,有钱才会使人“尊重”,没钱的自己就只是一只被雨淋湿的猫。所以霍莉的这一生,都在追求金钱,无论以何种方式。可是最后保罗的一番话,点醒梦中人,她冲进雨中,寻找她那只无名氏的猫,也寻找她那份十块钱的爱情。霍莉终于肯承认,自己永远也成为不了大人物,他们如这世上大多数人一样,只是芸芸众生里不知名的小人物,甚至是一无所有,可他们拥有彼此,就比好多人都快乐。结局自然是观众喜欢的大团圆结局,我想最后保罗一定会成名,必须得成名,他出版的书会有无数人找他签名。霍莉会改掉一切往日的坏毛病,做一个“正经”的女人,相夫教子,最后他们过着幸福美好的生活,仿如童话。这是最好的结局,也是我们所期望的结局。
令人心碎者
然而整部影片最令我动容的其实是医生对霍莉的爱。原来霍莉的真实姓名叫露露美,她的身世坎坷,自小过着流离失所的生活,与弟弟以偷窃为生。也是因为偷窃,她才得以与医生相识。医生在某处抓住了这两个偷窃的小孩,可见他们狼狈不堪的模样,他不忍心让两个孩子继续过流浪的生活。医生好心收留了他们,并在露露美十四岁那年,向她求婚,他们成了夫妻。可医生并不懂呀,露露美并不是一个普通的随遇而安的女孩,她是一头有野心的鹰,而这个小小的农庄,装不下她的一片野心。她在等,等一个出走的最佳时机。当她的弟弟去服兵役后,她便再无牵挂,她要离开这个家,去看看外面缤纷灿烂,目不暇给的世界。
医生觉得露露美完全没有离家出走的理由,在家中他的女儿负责所有的家务,她干得轻松,他爱露露美,不舍得让她受一点儿苦。露露美的毅然离开,使他痛心,可这么些年,他始终容忍她的任性,也许他觉得,当露露美经历过生活的艰辛,便会知道家里的好,以及他的好,到那时她会主动跟他回家的。可他不知道的是,露露美有一颗比钢铁还坚硬的心,除却弟弟的死,使她崩溃以外,没有任何事能够打倒她。
直至露露美的弟弟费特即将服完兵役回来,医生才从乡下来纽约寻她,想要接她回家,一家团聚。可是露露美对她的医生丈夫说:“你总犯这样的错,去爱野生不羁的动物,你总把野生动物带回家。有一次是一头折翼的鹰,另一次是折肢的成年野猫。你不能爱野生不羁的动物,你越爱它们,它们越强壮。最后它们有气力逃到树林和飞到树上,然后便一飞冲天。”而露露美就好似那头受伤的鹰,医生救她回家,她也感激医生。可是狭小的牢笼无法关住一只野生不羁的鹰,只有广阔的天空才是她的归处。于是露露美飞走了,没有一丝眷恋,她不会再回来。就像如今无数个从小城市前往北上广的女孩一样,她们都年轻,都心怀梦想,不愿被困在小城里,庸碌一生。世界很大,总要出去闯一闯,才叫人生一场。
这个看似已年过不惑的男人,他的年纪甚至可以做露露美的父亲。可是他善良,踏实,虽然也平庸,但他却是真心爱露露美。因为爱她,他再次放纵她的行为。只是临走之前,医生嘱咐保罗要露露美多吃一点,她实在太瘦了,听得人心碎。最后露露美哭着握着他手说,我爱你,可我不再是露露美了。那么真诚,我仿佛也听到了她心碎的声音,我相信露露美是爱医生的,也感激他为她所做的一切。只是她既然已来到纽约,就别无选择,“一离开头也不转不回来,我离开永远都不再回来。”
这时我总想起《如果爱》里,周迅唱的《外面》。“外面的世界很精彩,我出去会不会失败。外面的世界特别慷慨,闯出去我就可以活过来。留在这里我看不到现在,我要出去寻找我的未来,下定了决心改变日子真难捱,吹熄了蜡烛愿望就是离开。外面的世界很精彩,我出去会变得可爱,外面的机会来得很快,我一定找到自己的存在。一离开头也不转不回来,我离开永远都不再回来。”
成功或失败,梦想实现与破灭,只有去外面的世界闯一闯,才知道答案。飞吧,做梦的女孩。
